Who’s over 350 years old and can visit your school? Seaside favourite Mr. Punch, that’s who. He’s been in Brighton since the days of the Prince Regent and was over a century old even then.
There’s been Punch and Judy in Brighton ever since tourists first started to visit. Brighton’s Punch and Judy showman even performed for Queen Victoria herself.
The current performers of Brighton Beach Punch and Judy are renowned world wide for their skill. They have a long track record in bringing age-appropriate performances into the classroom and were responsible for devising the Punch and Judy module for the V&A Museum of Childhood.
We can tailor our session to your needs. Whether it’s a local history or tourism topic for KS1 or KS2, a drama and theatre studies topic for KS4 or KS5 or research for a Higher Education thesis there is a wealth of history and heritage to be uncovered.
As the Punch and Judy Show is traditionally a travelling entertainment it can come direct to your door with a complete session that combines education with entertainment.
A visit from a real Punch & Judy ‘Professor’ will provide a 1.5 hr session including an age-appropriate introduction, a performance, a handling collection of puppets, a small display, plenty of Q&A and guaranteed enjoyment.
It’s even possible for performances on the beach itself in summer by special arrangement.
